Soho Wines

Soho Wines was founded by Rachael Carter in 2008, with her first wines being produced using grapes from her father’s Marlborough and Waiheke Island vineyards in 2009.

Rachael has been involved in the wine industry for several years before starting Soho. She wanted to create a wine label that reflected Tom Ford’s iconic style...and that she did! Soho Wines creates premium wine that is reflective of the people who make them. Soho Wines are intended to be shared and enjoyed by all.

Soho Wines has continued to use Carter family vineyards on Waiheke Island and Marlborough. Other boutique vineyards in Gibbston, Bendigo and Bannockburn in Central Otago make up the rest of the Soho portfolio. Three of New Zealand’s best winemakers make Soho Wines; Dave Clouston in Marlborough, James Rowan in Waiheke Island, and Grant Taylor in Central Otago. Each of the winemakers likes to have their wines tell a story about each region so they are a perfect fit for Soho Wines.

Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Syrah and Chardonnay are planted on Waiheke Island. Marlborough produces Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, and Riesling. Currently only Pinot Noir is sourced from Central Otago. Fun fact: Soho Wines use fruit from Waiheke Island and Marlborough to make their Rose’s!
