Kusuda Wines
Kusuda Wines is the result of having wine be a passion that turned into a profession. Hiroyuki “Hiro” Kusuda started Kusuda Wines in 2001 without having an established winery or vineyard. Initially, Hiro Kusuda received his law degree in Japan, used that degree for a number of years before making the pivotal move to wine. Interestingly, it was a 1992 Ata Rangi Pinot Noir that moved him so much to go back to university to study wine.
Kusuda Wines in Martinborough is all about quality. There is meticulous sorting of bunches during and even after harvest in order to only use the absolute best grapes available. Kusuda Wines produces a dry Riesling, Pinot Noir, and Syrah. If the conditions are right, sometimes a trockenbeerenauslese-styled Riesling is added to the list.
By having a selection of Kusuda Wines available, wineNZ.com is one of the very few places to acquire a small taste of Hiro Kusuda’s lifelong passion. Any given year, nearly 70% gets exported to Japan so consider buying a couple extra when they are available because these only improve with further cellaring.
At winenz.com you can buy the wines from Kusuda winery for delivery around the world to Australia, USA, UK, Europe, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, Japan and China.
