Takapoto Estate Reserve Chardonnay 2020

Hand-picked from a premium coastal Chardonnay vineyard in Hawke's Bay, where Chardonnay thrives in the warm climate, cooled by evening sea breezes. This is an area where many of New Zealand's finest Chardonnay's come from.

Made naturally, the grapes were pressed directly into the barrels, where it underwent wild primary and malolactic fermentation.

The fantastic fruit weight is supported by complex and integrated French oak influences.   The wine spent 12 months in French oak barrels (40% new), before being bottled unfined with minimal filtration. 

The aromas leap from the glass, with complexity of pineapple, lemon curd, and nutty oak.  This is a full-bodied Chardonnay highlighting flavours of white peach, roasted nuts, vanilla, and an underlying stony minerality.  It's just gorgeous!
