Devotus Wines

With a sole focus on Pinot Noir, Devotus is a Martinborough Terrace vineyard of just 2 and a half hectares (6 acres) owned by Don and Valerie McConachy.  The family do everything with a hands on dedication to low cropping yields and concentration.

With mature vines ranging from 12 to over 30 years of age, traditional, natural and sustainable organic methods are used to bring fertility to the vines.  Don's ethos is that "great wine is made in the vineyard" where intense concentration is the goal as the grapes are tended and harvested by hand. Pain-staking attention to detail with individual berry selection in the winery is a hallmark of the obsession for quality.  Every grape on every bunch is inspected before going into the fermentation tank, including whole bunches of Pinot Noir. 

These are limited release wines, typically selling out "en premier", so availability is always strictly allocated.  A personal visit to the vineyard by UK wine critic, writer and Master of Wine Jancis Robinson in 2016 added to the attention these wines are receiving.  Known as an honest and brutal critic, Jancis has rated Devotus wines highly and we invite you to join the journey and follow the growing awareness of this boutique vineyard.
