Saint Clair Family Estate was established by Neal and Judy Ibbotson, viticulture pioneers in Marlborough in 1978. With more than 30 years of viticulture knowledge, Saint Clair is one of New Zealand’s leading wine companies with an exceptional quality record. In fact, wines from the first vintage all won medals including gold.

Saint Clair Family Estate’s vineyards are situated in different sites in Marlborough, including the Rapaura, Awatere, Waihopai and Omaka Valleys as well as a vineyard in the Gimblett Gravels wine growing district in Hawke’s Bay. Saint Clair’s philosophy was to plant grape varieties in the sub-regions that provide the most suitable terroir for each. 

They produce still and sparkling wines from a wide range of grapes including Chardonnay, Gruner Veltliner, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and Gewurztraminer in Marlborough and Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot, Syrah and Viognier in Hawke’s Bay.
