You would have to be kidding to pass up on trying a wine from this producer! Nanny Goat Vineyard is named after the wild goats that roam the mountainous terrain of Central Otago. Both the name and vineyard came about in 2004, and within a year the first vintage of Pinot Noir was released. Along with Pinot Noir, their vineyards located in Pisa, Bannockburn and Queensberry, also produce premium Chardonnay and Syrah.

Alan Peters-Oswald is the winemaker at Nanny Goat Vineyard. Alan believes that as a winemaker it is his job to make wines that interpret the beauty of their unique place of origin, the individual sites from which their fruit is sourced, and the quality of the fruit used. The wines created at Nanny Goat Vineyard do just that, each wine incorporates mineral, floral and herbal notes, and always with a fine streak of acidity to keep things bright and balanced. 

Nanny Goat Vineyard produce delicious Pinot Noirs, a fine example would have to be the Super Nanny Pinot Noir, where only the highest quality grapes were selected. Each vintage of the Super Nanny always showcases the characteristics of dark berry, cherry and toasted spices beautifully. If you are in the mood for something lighter, check out their Nanny Goat Crossbreed. The Crossbreed is a unique blend of Gewürztraminer, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir, this expresses exotic aromas of ginger, cardamon and quince.
