Mt Rosa Rose 2025
Mt Rosa Wines
Elegant, vibrant & unmistakably Gibbston. Crafted from 100% Pinot Noir grown on Mt Rosa's single vineyard in the heart of Central Otago's Gibbston sub-region, the 2025 Coal Pit Rosé is a beautifully poised cool-climate wine that delivers freshness, purity and finesse in every glass. Bursting with fragrant red berries, floral lift and subtle spice, this is a dry, textural rosé equally at home as an aperitif or alongside great food.
Produced from a long, cool growing season that preserved exceptional natural acidity and aromatics, this limited-release rosé captures everything that makes Gibbston one of New Zealand's most exciting cool-climate wine regions. Partial fermentation in seasoned French oak adds a subtle creaminess and complexity while allowing the vibrant fruit to remain the star.

Tasting Notes
A delicate blush pink in the glass, the bouquet opens with lifted aromas of redcurrant, raspberry, cherry, violet and a gentle hint of spice. The palate is crisp, dry and beautifully layered, combining juicy red berry fruit with vibrant acidity and a softly textured mid-palate derived from partial fermentation in seasoned French oak. The Vintage
The 2025 growing season in Gibbston was long, cool and exceptionally well suited to producing premium Rosé. Even flowering, mild summer temperatures and cool nights preserved freshness and aromatics, while a dry autumn allowed the Pinot Noir to achieve excellent flavour development. Harvested on 17 April at 23.1° Brix, the fruit displays remarkable purity, balance and vineyard expression.
Winemaking
Produced exclusively from multiple Pinot Noir clones grown on Mt Rosa's single vineyard, the fruit underwent a 48-hour cold soak before fermentation primarily in stainless steel to preserve freshness, with 10% matured in seasoned French oak to enhance texture and subtle spice. The result is a refined, contemporary Rosé with both vibrancy and depth.
