The Boneline

An eccentric producer from Waipara, which offers some unique insights into the prehistoric fossils found on their land next to the Waipara river, and how they help to shape their wines.

24 hectares of vines were planted in 1989, under an abundant amount of marine fossils, formed as the land emerged from the sea. The bones of these ancient giant sea creatures are rich in minerals like phosphorus, creating some of the most fertile areas in New Zealand.

The wines are crafted under the watchful eye of head winemaker, Willie Trew, offering an impressive range of whites and reds and Rosé.
