Huia Vineyards

Huia Vineyards, located in the Wairau Valley in Marlborough, was created by Claire and Mike Allan in 1996. They both had experience working in Champagne and key Marlborough wineries and finally decided to get their own vines. Huia Vineyard is one of Marlborough’s only producers dedicated to the production of minimal intervention, organically farmed wines. The fruit is sourced from a combination of their own vineyards and other carefully selected sites across Marlborough but the production size on each of these wines remains small.

Huia Vineyards is producing excellent good value sparkling wines that could substitute any of the nice Champagne for celebrations. You should try the Huia Blanc de Blanc or Brut Rose! They also produce a large range of white wines including classic Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough style, aromatic grapes such as Riesling and Gewurztraminer, textural wines like Chardonnay and Pinot Gris or even nice Gruner Velltiner. For the red wines, Huia Vineyards only focus on Pinot Noir.
